Overview
Set during the Tokugawa shogunate, the film focuses on Gonza Sasano, a handsome and ambitious samurai from the Matsue clan. Although he is already engaged to the sister of one of his fellow retainers, Gonza agrees to wed the daughter of his lord to better his position. The financée's furious brother plots to ensnare Gonza in a tryst with the lord's wife
