Overview

Gertie LaRue and her troupe of performers arrive direct from Harlem at the Paradise Hotel on the island of Trinidad. They are there to do a show at the Diamond Palace, a club owned by Diamond Joe, who falls for Gertie. Gertie has left Harlem in a hurry and cannot go back there because she has jilted her boyfriend, Al, who is now looking for revenge
