Overview
At the close of 1899, Francesca (Sastre) has an arranged marriage to a man she does not love, Edgardo (Cantarelli). During the ceremony, she suddenly falls in love with the best man, Angelo (Abatantuono), who has just returned from the United States after 15 years. Francesca scandalizes the wedding party with her flirtations and as the next century dawns she may prove to everyone that true love does exist after all
