Overview
Tokiko is a young wife who struggles to make ends meet living with her small son while her husband is in service overseas. She is in desperate need for money and when her child becomes ill and is hospitalized, Tokiko decides to sell herself to a stranger one night to pay for the expense. Her husband returns and is furious when he finds out about it. Through their suffering, however, the two are able to reach a higher level of love and understanding
