Overview

A film adaptation of Yamamoto Yuzo's novel of the same title that depicts the emotional suffering of a man in love. A young male teacher tries to save a female student who was sold as a geisha and eventually marries her. She falls in love with another man, however, and although she comes back to her husband, she soon dies after delivering a baby. He raises his son but is too hurt to commit himself to a new relationship
