The first Easter

The Gospel according to Luke (chapters 19:29-24). "The first Easter" deals with the events leading up to the crucificxion, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. The story begins with Palm Sunday when Jesus is hailed with palm leaves by his followers as he rides a burro into Jerusalem. At the temple of God, through righteous anger, he overturns tables and drives the money changers out. After the Last Supper, he is arrested and tried before Pilate. Betrayed and condemned, he is led to Golgotha and crucified. Buried temporarily, in a cave, by his friends, he later reappears before them - he is risen from the grave. Jesus speaks to his faithful disciples in the upper room then takes a last journey to Bethany where he ascends to heaven
