Simple yet symbolic story of an adulterous love triangle in a pastoral setting. A young bride is unhappy with her passionless, much older husband, and returns to her father's estate in the country, where she falls in love with a young land surveyor and finds herself torn between propriety and romance. The movie is still notorious for a nude scene which caused trouble in Lamarr's private life as well as with German and American censors
